Bushiri Abdallah Chairman Bushiri S. Abdallah, BSEE, MBA. Project Engineer Electrical & Controls. Bushiri S. Abdallah is currently the Project Engineer at International Paper Corporation. He is a former Board Chairman of Pamoja We Can Harambee USA (PHU) from 2016 – 2020. In addition, he has over 18 years’ experience working at all levels of manufacturing industries. Lead a cross functional team to execute expansion and improvement of small, medium and large projects. Develop capital proposals and manage all the detailed design and construction with the objective of meeting technical, cost reliability and safety goals. Bushiri has an extensive academic background in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University (BSEE) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Indiana Wesleyan University. A Blythewood SC resident since 2015 moved from Texas. Bushiri enjoys traveling, listen to music, watching sports, politics and spend time with family. He also interested to help and serve those in need. Hyacinthi E Mwangu, MPH Secretary Community Engagement Director – Lowcountry Region S.C. Department Of Public Health Hyacinthi Elias Mwangu is a Community Engagement Director for the South Carolina Department of Public Health in the Low Country. He has a master’s in public health from Grand Valley State University. His works focus on the prevention of chronic diseases and injury prevention in the Lowcountry Region. Mr. Mwangu manages a team of twenty employees which is made of three managers, an Epidemiologist, a Registered nurse, a team of Health educators, and Community health workers. Mr. Mwangu has extensive experience in promoting health in areas such as nutrition, physical activities, oral health, mental health awareness, and substance abuse prevention. He worked with different agencies from the Federal level such as the CDC, State and Local government to nonprofit organizations in promoting health in underserved communities. He has experience working actively in providing fresh fruits and vegetables to underserved communities in Charleston and Dorchester County through collaboration with Lowcountry Foodbank, and Community Resource Center. He collaborated with the City of Charleston Park and Recreation, local farmers’ markets, faith-based communities, schools, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and local Faith-Based Communities to promote physical activities and nutrition. Mr. Mwangu is a member of Healthy Tri-County where he presents the Obesity, Nutrition, and Physical Activity (ONPA) group as a chairperson. He served as Lowcountry region coordinator for Ending the Epidemics (HIV & STDs) and SHAPE tri-county for one year. He served as President of Smoke-Free Lowcountry Coalition, and board member of Father-to-Father Inc, Edisto Kusso Indian tribe Free Clinic, First Step program of Charleston, and Summerville Cultural Art Center. Mr. Mwangu is interested in promoting health equity, especially for those who don’t have a voice.
